I have had a genuine passion for baking ever since I was a kid, I used to collect books and magazines and watch all sorts of baking shows on TV for fun, and then later in the day, I would try to recreate the recipes I had seen on the show. One time I was attempting to make a complicated cupcake recipe that I had seen on one of the famous shows on baking, I was ten years old at the time and had no idea that you had to measure everything to the dot because baking involved science which you don't want to mess with! needless to say, I had to throw the cupcakes into the trash as soon as they came out of the oven, which drove my mom insane and ended any future chances I could have had at becoming a professional baker.

Recently though, I have discovered a newfound love for cooking. This time around I might have a better chance at making a career out of it, which I honestly have no intention of actualizing. Cooking is more forgiving than baking (and occasionally my mom) because you don't have to stick to a specific measurement. The simple act of eyeballing your ingredients or just feeling through how much to be adding would do the trick.

Cooking is a huge part of every culture since the first thing you do when you visit a new country is try the dishes they are most famous for!

To me, cooking can be very therapeutic because, in a way, it could be considered a form of art. The process of choosing and bringing the ingredients together, preparing them, and then assembling everything is just fun. The colors, smells, and textures of the different types of food are also a beautiful way to engage your senses and disconnect from the outer world for a minute. It becomes more fun and rewarding when you are cooking for others and you get to see the reaction they make after taking that first bite of whatever dish you put your effort into making.
