Starting this first blog with zero preparation, no particular thought in mind and not a clue in sight as to why I am writing it other than for the sole purpose of attempting to loosen the grip of perfectionism that has been forever taking a hold of me.

I'm sure many of you can relate (more specially if you're a creative individual) to the perfectionism trap. You believe such thing as a perfect timing exists. Every night you're in bed playing out different imaginary scenarios as to how you could've said the perfect answer to a certain question someone has asked you a couple of days ago. Spending hours trying to perfect a resume for your dream job, hours picking out the perfect outfit for a date, hours working on a client's logo design to perfection, hours writing and re-writing paragraphs of the book you were supposed to publish last year... but the truth is, there's no such thing as perfection.

In the words of a wise dear person of mine :

"perfect timing falls within the confinement of your own timing, because for nature every time is perfect timing"

and I believe it couldn't be any more true. Each one of us has a different meaning as to what perfection is, a different notion of time and a different path and journey in life. Henceforth, our collective measurement for perfection and time is always set for failure.

And if you suffer from the dreadful impending doom of perfectionism then "finished is better than perfect" seems to be the only way to go on about completing tasks or projects. So send that resume anyways, wear that dress, finish that book it's not going to be the end of the world! and at the end of the day, if you don't like it, you can always get a second chance to do it all over again.

Firstly, Welcome back!

This is beautifully written, it reminds me of a quote from a book I read some years back, "Be – drop becoming". As Nike famously put it, Just do it ✅
